Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia is the “second wine” produced by Ornellaia, following the same philosophy of the great Bordeaux Chateaux. The first year of production was 1997, with the wine having the same appellation of origin, coming from the same terroir and grape types, the same vineyard practices, vinification processes and aging in oak barrels as the Ornellaia wine. Made mostly from the estate’s younger vines, Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia can be described as a more youthful approach to Ornellaia wine. The complexity and structure of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes are complemented by the silky roundness of the Merlot grape and the freshness and crisp acidity of the Petit Verdot grape.
